That’s why we’re proud to spotlight our growing partnership with AdvantEdge and the TekWissen Foundation, two incredible organizations who stepped up in December 2024 with a powerful question: “How can we open our network to help you?”

As staffing industry experts, AdvantEdge and the TekWissen Foundation bring deep experience in workforce development, expertise they’ve channeled into invaluable opportunities for our scholars. In just a few months, this partnership has grown into a powerful support system that empowers our coaches with up-to-date tools and insights in resume writing, interviewing, and professional branding. In turn, our scholars will gain the critical career skills and access to real-world networks that puts them ahead of the curve.

A Growing Impact: Partnership Highlights

• Individualized Scholar Support - Personalized sessions between scholars and volunteers from AdvantEdge and TekWissen provide tailored career guidance based on their scholars interests and strengths. Multiple scholars are already benefiting from direct mentorship.
• Design Thinking in Action - Through our Art of the Possible workshops, AdvantEdge and TekWissen gained deeper insight into the strengths and gaps in Pivotal’s existing workforce development supports. Using a design thinking approach, they created tailored exercises to meet scholars and coaches where they are,leading to programs that are both practical and impactful.
• Professional Development Tools - Scholars were introduced to modern career-building tools and resources to ensure they’re equipped to stand out in a competitive job market.
• Hands-On Training - Pivotal coaches participated in a dynamic four-part training series to provide them with hands-on training and actionable knowledge to help them support their scholars. The sessions covered resume writing, interview skills, AI job seeking best practices and building a strong professional brand online.
• Executive Mentorship for Coaches - Starting this fall, seasoned leaders from AdvantEdge and TekWissen will begin meeting monthly with Pivotal coaches. These executive mentors will provide our coaches with powerful insights and real-world strategies to support their scholars in career exploration and professional development.
• Access to Premium Tools - While many resume tools are free, the most impactful features often sit behind paywalls. Recognizing this, Bill Calhoun from TekWissen is stepping in to fund subscriptions. Thanks to his generosity, our scholars have access to the latest and greatest tools to secure the jobs they want.
